  • Picnic

All Patrol Leaders Need to find out how many people from their patrol will be attending the picnic. Once you have a numbver you need to call Dan Burlingame and tell him so there is an estimate for the picnic. Try to respond to him as soon as possible thanks.

  • Reminder: Sunday June 1 is our Picnic at Stoney Creek Metropark

    Time:  3-7pm

    (committee meeting starts at 2:00)

Place:  Stoney Creek Park, "Gladeview A" pavilion

    Bring your own beverages

  • Troop Family Picnic - June 1st

The troop is having it's annual picnic on Sunday, June 1st from 3 to 7 PM at Stony Creek Metropark. We have reserved Gladeview A site which is just after the 26 Mile entrance on the right (east side of park). Look for troop sign at split in Gladeview drive (42,43,50.41N  83,03,38.40W). The troop will supply hamburgers & hot dogs and lemonade. Families should plan on bringing a dish to pass. We are hiding a few geocahces so bring a GPS if you have one. Scouts can show parents & siblings how its done. There will be a short Committee meeting at 2 PM for the older scouts (& potential new Venturers) to present the concept of starting a 125 venture crew.

  • Next Meeting May 27th - Community House

The troop's next meeting is May 27th at the Community House. The theme will be Car Crazy (rain day June 3rd). We are asking all families who have nice cars to bring them by (sort of mini Dream Cruise Night). We want to impress upon the scouts that a car (like anything nice to have) requires planning and commitment. Scouts might want to check the requirements for Auto Mechanics on Meritbadge.org.

Mark your calendar for June 1st for a family picnic at Stony Creek Metro park (3-6PM). The troop will cook the burgers and families should bring something to pass. Come prepared to hunt for Geocaches. Muggles ask your scout what a Geocache is.

  • Troop Summer Camp "Prep" Meeting, Tuesday May 13th

Attention, all scouts attending summer camp. Tuesday's meeting is a good opportunity to have all required summer camp forms confirmed by Don Balmes. It is esssential to have the forms submitted and confirmed prior to summer camp. If you have not attended a summer camp since 2006, or have, but have not had a medical physical examination within the past 36 months, then you will need to arrange for a medical physical  as soon as possible.

    Thank You,

    Don Balmes

  • Schedule Change: Tuesday May 6th is now a Short Bike Hike (Weather Permitting)

The GPS presentation planned for Tuesday May 6 has been re-scheduled to May 13

So .. instead of GPS we will meet at the Rochester Community House, with our bikes, to take part in a Bike Hike Tuneup Ride. This will help us get ready for the May Bike Hike Campout and this activity counts towards the Cycling Merit badge requirement (for those interested).

So bring bike, helmet, and water bottle to the Community House -- 7:00 pm

*THIS EVENT WILL BE CANCELLED AUTOMATICALLY IF IT IS RAINING*

There will not be another email or phone call, we'll just cancel.

  • 2008 Summer Camp Health Forms, due June 2nd.

    Hello,

Dear parents, if your scout is registered for summer camp please take notice that all health and medical forms need to be submitted to Don Balmes by June 2nd. Therefore, if you have not already done so, it's now time to get on it... Please, please use the forms that were included in the summer camp packet.

    As an FYI:

    1) All youth scouts must submit a current "health history" class #2 form, that was included in your camp packet. This applies to all campers, whether or not you attended last years summer camp.

    2) Class #2 form, page #2, must be completed, dated, and signed by a parent or legal guardian.

    3) If you are youth age and have not attended a summer camp since 2006, then I will need a doctor's physical examination that is not older than 36 months prior to the start of summer camp, which is June 29th.

    4) If you are over age 40, and attending camp either full or partime, then you must submit the class #3 health form with a doctor's physical examination that is not older than 12 months prior to the start of summer camp, June 29th.

    5) All scouts must submit a parental/guardian "Release of Camper" form, that was included in your packet.

    6) All scouts that will have medications at camp, must submit upon camp arrival a "Camper Medication Form", form included in your camp packet.

All forms are available in the Troops wedsite if you are not able to locate your packet.

Thanks in advance for your prompt response to this request.

    Regards,

    Don Balmes
